Sorting of waste streams has a great impact on the environment. Thorough sorting can reduce the amount of waste going to landfills and/or incinerators considerably. By turning waste into recyclable products, money can be saved; the amortisation of Material Recycling Facility (MRF) depends on the costs for landfill and/or incineration.

More Information

The REDOX sorting lines for demolition and construction waste can produce reusable materials like wood, metals, RDF (Refuse Derived Fuel), soil, aggregates.

Aggregates can be reused as a foundation material in road constructions, as a gravel substitute in concrete or as a trenchfill material. Soil can be used in noise protection walls, as fill-material or for road construction. High calorific materials like plastic and paper can be turned into RDF.

A sorting line mostly consists of a deposit hopper, sizing equipment (screens), separating equipment (separators), cleaning equipment with the help of air (windshifters) or water (washers), sorting cabins and conveyor systems. Furthermore the line can be equipped with crushers, shredders, presses, balers and grey water systems. The treated grey water can be used for dust suppression systems, spraying systems for incoming loads and wheel washers.

REDOX project procedures

There is no standard sorting line, since no waste flow or site is the same. That is why REDOX Recycling Technology analyses the waste flow by amongst others making a mass-volume balance. Furthermore a lay-out of the line is made. REDOX will then check in close co-operation with the customer if the chosen set-up is agreed upon. Next a detailed design is made. For all projects an experienced project manager is appointed to supervise production, installation and start-up.
